🔶Q.1 Two cars A and B start simultaneously from a certain place at the speed of 40 kmph and 55 kmph, respectively. The car B reaches the destination 2 hours earlier than A. What is the time taken by A to reach the destination?

A. 7 hours 20 minutes

B. 9 hours 05 minutes

C. 8 hours 25 minutes

D. 7 hours 30 minutes

📌Solution:-

Let the time taken by car A to reach destination is T hours So, the time taken by car B to reach destination is (T-2) hours.

As the destination of both the cars is same

=>40(T) = 55 (T-2)

=>40T=55T-110

=> 15T = 110

🎯>>T= 7 hours 20 minutes

🔶Q.2 How many three digit numbers are formed where at least two of the three digits are same?

A. 648

B. 45

C.55

D. 50

📌Solution :-

Required length H.C.F. of 495 cm, 900 cm and 1665 cm.
495 = 32 x 5 x 11,
900= 22 x 32 x 52,
1665 = 32 x 5 x 37.

H.C.F. = 32 x 5 = 45.

🎯Hence, required length = 45 cm.

🔶Q.8  Shruti purchased some articles for 2,400. She sold two-third of the articles purchased at 10% loss. Find the profit percentage at which the rest of must be sold to gain an overall profit of 25%?

A. 90%

B. 89%

C. 82%

D. 95%

📌Solution

The C.P of the articles = 2,400

overall Profit = 25%

So, Total S.P=(2,400* 125)/100 = 3,000

The C.P of the articles - 2,400

overall Profit = 25%

So, Total S.P (2,400 125)/100 = 3,000

(2/3)rd of the C.P (2/3)* 2,400 = 1,600

Loss = 10%

S.P. of (2/3) of articles (1,600 * 90)/100 = 1,440

Then,

S.P on remaining (1/3) articles 3,000-1,440 1,560

CP on remaining articles = (1/3)* 2,400 = 800

Profit= S.P-C.P= 1,560 - 800 = 760

hence,

🎯Profit % = (760 100)/800 = 95%

🔶Q.9 A college has 10 basketball players. A 5-member team and a captain will be selected out of these 10 players. How many different selections can be made?

Now, the captain can be selected from these 6 players in 6 ways.

🎯Therefore, total ways the selection can be made is 210*6 = 1260

🔶Q.10 How many 4 digit numbers contain number 2?

A. 3168

B. 4690

C. 3170

D. 3178

Total number of 4 digit numbers are 9000 (between 1000 and 9999).

We find the numbers without any two in them:

1st place can be filled in 9 ways (except 2)

2nd place can be filled in 9 ways (except 2)

 3rd place can be filled in 9 ways (except 2)

4th place can be filled in 8 ways (except 0,2)

So total numbers are 8x9x9x9 5832

🎯So numbers with number two in them
 = 9000 - 5832 = 3168
